  i bought my sons television in to repair after it had been broken the night before at my sons new years party and if it wasn't for thomsons reparing it within a day i would have probably thrown the brat out ,, thumbs up to thomsons !

• Beware: Extortionists!

  My elderly parents used Thomson's of Dalry Rd Edinburgh for TV repairs in September and paid by cheque immediately, but were subsequently told cheques weren't acceptable and that they would be back to seize their TV unless they paid by credit card: unwisely they did so and have paid twice as Thomsons cashed the cheque despite promising to rip it up! Sadly my Dad passed away weeks later and my widowed mum has been seeking repayment ever since. After 2 months of phone-calls and personal visits, where we've been consistently fobbed off with empty promises I see no way forward but to approach the police tomorrow and seek to charge them with extortion/theft which I shall do tomorrow if full repayment is not received by then. I will also be spreading news of their gross misconduct via newspapers and online reviews until Mum gets full reimbursement and an apology!

  I bought a tv from thomsons it was a very competetive price with all other tv shops i compared with. With free setup and delivery etc. Great service and courtious staff , thankyou.

• Defensive

  Took tv with no sound to be repaired. Received no follow up call so dropped in. Told tv unrepairable, so asked to speak to the guy who worked on it to get further details. Guy did not want to talk to me, another gentleman stepped in to give me the info I needed. Not the best customer service. Will be complaining to my original trader about tv. Won't be going back.

• f up home cinema surround system

  i asked them to fix a hdmi outlet no problem they told me .it came back with no surround and still no hdmi .i asked for my 50pounds back for them as they said they had fixed it which the surround system is in a worse state since they so called re paired it it has been back to there shop twice and still not working.i have given it to sony to repair and they have told me it will cost 306 pounds to repair due to this company f-cking it up merry xmas to them see you through your insurance company dont go to them for anything unless you want faulty goods looking at this web page thats all you will get

• Poor Service

  I instructed this firm to re-programme a TV/DVD and to sort out poor picture quality from the aerial. They failed to do both and were extremely rude to me when I complained. I would not recommend them to anyone
