• sorely disappointed

  I had heard about international starters, and thought it was a great idea, as I always want to just eat lots of starters and miss out on the main course - so this way I could!I went at lunchtime on a weekend with my boyfriend. The place was pretty quiet - a few people in, but not too many.The menu was pretty disappointing in itself - i was expecting a really wide range of interesting starters, but what I was faced with was like a choice of pub 'platter' food! We opted for 2 dishes each to share, and the food was also a let down. It was basically just like the deep fried stuff that you get in some pubs - you know the sort, greasy, might have come straight out the freezer! Also the quesadilla was really bland and tasteless which is surprising as they are so easy to make.As an example of some the menu items I can remember there were spring rolls, prawn toast, dim sum, haggis balls, quesadilla, nachos, buffalo wings, pitta with dips...Basically, if you are looking for some interesting starters, then give this place a miss. its more of a cheap chain pub type of selection than anything else, but then perhaps my expectations were just too high??

• Fantastic idea!

  I think the principle behind International Starters is a fantastic idea - something of a new principle in restaurants and i wouldn't be suprised if it doesn't take off across the country! The idea is that you get to sample food from across the world but in smaller portions. We arrived on time and were seated immediately (but not rushed). Service here is most definately impressive, the staff are really friendly and out to have some fun. You kind of get swept up in the euphoria of the place and can't help but enjoy yourself! Food is cooked perfectly and such a wide choice you don't actually know what to go for! Recommended!

• Exotic!

  International Starters is a great idea for a restaurant and I always enjoy eating here! You can choose from a selection of starter-sized portions of dishes from all over the world. The variety of available dishes is great and it means you can have a really interesting, tasty and exotic meal. It's quite popular to go in groups and order lots of different dishes so everyone can have a taste of everything! Also great for dates as the food gives you plenty to talk about and you can share each other's meals! I've eaten here quite a few times and would definitely recommend it.
