  • 4 Step up from your average city centre cafe

Rather good and surprisingly roomy inside! Still a bit of a battle to get a seat weekend lunchtimes though. It's a step up from your average city centre cafe (more of an organic locally sourced feel and the dishes are a bit more exotic) but they also do an excellent haggis neeps and tatties. At 11:45 in the morning.

  • 4 Daytime YES Evening NO

New Urban Angel - great food, eggs benedict best in town. Love it during the day for breakfast for lunch BUT in the evening portions shrink and service VERY slow.

  • 3 good food but overpriced

Yes the food is natural but £6 for a take away panini is rediculous- go across the street to Food glorious food or to Hendersons for equally as good food at a fraction of the cost.

  • 5 fabulous food!

After years of going to the same greasy spoons and eating so many fry ups, i decided at the beginning of the year to start to try a little healthier. After trying Urban Angel I was shocked at what i had been missing for so many years. The healthier meals are so much more tasty - the food is cooked to perfection by urban angel chefs and the flavours just spring out at you! Just going here and trying the delicious food has helped me lose loads of weight, even though i now eat out more often! I'm now a regular here and it still doesn't break the bank, and i'm feeling so much more healthy! Thank you so much Urban Angel!

  • 5 Great!!

One of the best little places ive been to in my life. Not only is the food great but its organic to so you don't have to worry about and nasty GM ingredients or Artificial ingredients. They also have something to suit every one and will gladly take things out of a meal to suit you. They have things for Vegitarians and will take any animal bi-products out of a meal for vegans if you ask them politely. Recommended.

  • 5 Best food in the World!

I love this place. The food is fantastic; it is fresh and organic and the menu is exciting and inventive. They have daily specials so there is always something new.The menu is large and best for people like me who are not early risers, they have all-day breakfast. This is a great place to go if you are a vegetarian as they have many options on the menu. My favourite would definitely be the Vegetarian Haggis – it comes with the best mash and a fabulous leek sauce. They serve organic wines and beers and probably the best coffee in Edinburgh. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed; this is the type of place to go to have a great meal with friends. The restaurant is divided into a couple of sections. The first being a deli-style counter for take-away meals and coffees with some café style seating. If you are eating in you are taken to one of two rooms both of which have a modern twist of decor combined with historic Scottish features such as old ovens and fireplaces. If you live in Edinburgh or are visiting you simply MUST try this restaurant. The only complaint I have is that there is not an Urban Angel in London!
