From its location in a former whisky bond close to the waterfront at Leith, Britannia Spice has been attracting Edinburgh's diners to its multi-ethnic blend of exotic eastern cooking since 2000. Drawing on the traditional cuisine of India, Bangladesh, Thailand and Nepal, the critically acclaimed dishes are served in a nautically-inspired interior with an airy yet intimate ambience.
Hmmm. I went here for a work lunch and was disappointed. I was not expecting gourmet Indian cuisine and I was lucky I had not. The food did not display what Indian food is truly like - it was a watered down anglo pacifying version. The flavours were dull and uninteresting. There was no vibrancy, although staff were attentive. I don't think this gives a really authentic idea of what Indian food is really meant to be. I would not go back here if wanted a nice curry. I am sure there must be better places in Edinburgh though it is not a a city known for its Indian food.

me and my friend went to this restaurant one tea time, and you got a deal on a 3 course meal with a glass of wine. The food was absolutely gorgeous, and the place is lovely, a rather large restaurant considering outside it doesn't look so big.Would recommend this very highly. This is a very popular restaurant.
