Appearing in the Which? Food Guide every year since 1992, The Shore is a small cosy restaurant and bar that serves a variety of Scottish seafood and game dishes with some vegetarian options. They also have live Folk music 3 nights a week as well as Jazz trio's on Tuesday's and Saturday's. Catering for private parties of up to 36 guests is available upon request.
Cosy pub with seafaring theme. Wide variety of sea food dishes and other on a menu which changes daily. Attentitive friendly service. Good range of wines. Starters are unbelievably good value, and substantially sized. Main courses are good , but not massive. Good range of home cooked desserts too- the sticky toffee pudding is top notch.I have been here on many occassions, lunch and dinner, and have never been disappointed.
I used to go to The Shore restaurant and bar quite a lot when I lived in Edinburgh. The bar is small and cosy with an old world feel. They frequently had live music from local musicians. The adjacent restaurant was really excellent, if a little pricey.
The Shore is a lovely prize-winning 18th century wood-paneled pub, overlooking the docks, with a wonderful cozy atmosphere, a roaring coal fire in winter, and tables on the pavement outside in the summer. You can eat at the bar, or choose to eat in the dining room from the longer a la carte menu. The food is Franco-Scottish, with an emphasis on seafood and game. Probably one of my favourite places to go on a Sunday.
