We got our luxury kitchen fitted a year ago. Fair enough, it's solid wood, and was built in one day, however certainly not worth the money! We have an L shaped kitchen, quite small, total of 6 units top and bottom, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, hob and chimney hood - total £12k!!!! However, he said we would get money off this if we took out the finance plan. BIG MISTAKE!!! Don't ever do this!! We had the money in full to pay by cash but we were informed that we wouldn't get money off this way, only by taking the finance offer. If we paid the finance for the 1st year, we'd be paying only £9k for the kitchen, and we could pay it off 12 months after - no interest. What a lot of crap !!! On phoning the Finance Company this week, we have been told the settlement figure is £9k!!! We've paid £264 a month this past 12 months - £167 a month of that has been towards interest! I feel totally conned!!! My friend got a much nicer kitchen for half the price from B&Q!!!! Anyway, if we don't pay it off now, we'll keep paying a ridiculous amount back each month and if it runs the 5 years, we'll have paid back £17k!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!! You live and learn.

My elderly parents got the door to door salesman making out DM was the dugs nuts. they were ripped off 945 pound without even getting anything fitted, they were told that the bathroom came with a 10 year warrenty but when the surveyor came he said it was 5 years, NOTE at this point the surveyor didnt turn up at the door until after the cool off period. which means my parents could not cancel without loosing the deposit, they tried and lost it (for now). what DM dont understand is that because they sent the surveyor after the cool off period the contract is void so my parents are indeed entitled to a full refund of the deposit. I have just got through with weatherseal after they stitched up my parents and my girlfriend with unfinished work, How did i manage that you may ask, My uncle, and several people from work and round my town were asking who supplied my parents windows, i told them and then i told them about the four years of grief my parents had to get the windows finished. then i told them my uncle cancelled a £37.000 order after what i told him, with that weatherseal came out and honoured the contracts 4 years late with my parents, and two year late for my Girlfriend, but it was an expensive lack of customer care for weatherseal. I reckon i cost them about £70.000+ because people at work and two neighbours were going to buy. too bad eh? I'll be doing the same with DM design, the longer they hold back on the deposit the more bad publicity they get, i've already informed the papers, And advised neighbors to be wary of the salemen in the area. Next step is work mates, extended family, and offcourse as much slating as i can do when i'm vacating pubs and restraunts. and all its going to cost us is £948 if they dont settle up. but it will be more expensive for DM at the end of the day, until they settle up. for a copy of the letter my sister sent to DM and was one of many tha was ignored please feel free to e-mail a request.
