Hey, i actually work in The aquatic dept in the melville store and so i had to reply when i saw this comment. When u keep tanks (not one or two, but tanks in the teens) it is practically impossible to keep disease out of the system, this is especially true when a large number of wish share the same supply of water (Bay methods, multiple filters etc:). Dobbies actually tell there customers when there is a diseased bay to stop there being a risk of passing disease into a customers tank (which can i point out is unlinke any other pet store in Edinburgh). We also pay for treatments to give to our livestock which again is unlike most Aquatic stores. As for saying 'find somewhere who actually care for there livestock', have you seen our hugely popular pet section with our Rabbits, Guinea-pigs and other popular pets. We also have the largest selection of Birds in Edinburgh, to look after these animals takes considerable time and effort, which are all devoted to doing. You'll be hard done by to find a store which takes better care of its animals and fish.

These sort of places should be shut down! I have been several times to this outlet and have yet to find it without diseased or dead fish floating in the tanks.(Not just one or two but lots!) The tanks have been dirty and the staff difficult to find. Why do people buy fish from this store? I have complained to the head office but it seems to have had little effect. Give this store a miss and go seek out a shop that cares about its livestock.
